Transportation – get to the starting point

Public transport is possible to several starting locations along the Tour de Dovre. Most people start from Dombås, but you can plan your route exactly how you want.

Take the train to Dombås Station. Then take the bus to Dombås town centre. Visit Vy.no or Entur.no for route information and tickets.

Take the train to Hjerkinn Station. Cycle along the E6/County Road 27 towards Folldal, then continue in your chosen direction either via Kvitdalen to Folldal or along the National Park Trail to Dombås. Hjerkinn Fjellstue is located about 2.5 kilometers east of the station, in the direction of Folldal.

There is no public transport to Grimsdalshytta, but it is possible to arrange a paid pickup from Dovre Station or take a taxi.

Take the train to Dovre Station. Boarding and alighting require advance ticket reservations. From the station, follow the county road towards Grimsdalen or Dombås. Toftemo Turiststasjon is located about 3 kilometers north of the train station.

If you are arriving by car, the best parking facilities are at Dombås and Hjerkinn.

Dombås
If you drive, the best place to park is by Dombås Ski Lifts, close to Trolltun.

Hjerkinn
If you drive, paid parking is available at Hjerkinnhus Hotel, and free parking can be found at Hjerkinn Fjellstue og Fjellridning as well as near the train station.

Dovre
It is possible to park your car at Toftemo Turiststasjon.
